Mission Statement:

NetSAP-Boston is a non-profit, non-partisan, volunteer-based 501(c)(6) organization committed to identifying and celebrating the diversity of South Asians in America by promoting professional development; encouraging community service activities; raising awareness of the South Asian culture and providing forums for the discussion of important societal issues. As one of the largest local and national South Asian organizations, we represent over 3,500 individuals in the New England with over 150 members.

NetSAP-Boston organizes regular events that help further its mission and objectives. These events and meetings are organized by the Executive Board and Committee co-Chairs.

Background:

Founded in 1995, NetSAP-Boston is an affiliate chapter of NetIP North America. The Network of Indian Professionals (NetIP) is a professional, non-profit organization dedicated to the overall achievement and advancement of South Asian professionals. NetIP-NA consists of 24 chapters with over 5,000 paid members and reaches out to over 40,000 professionals in the US and Canada. The primary focus of the organization is to foster a bond among South Asian professionals to unite and support each other locally, as well as to give back and contribute positively to the communities in which we live and work.

NetIP initially evolved in Chicago in 1990, as a small-scale forum for South Asian professionals to network with each other. Today, the organization has expanded to include over 3,000 members in 24 cities across United States and Canada. Our members consist of successful, highly talented, socially responsible and dynamic South Asian professionals all across North America.

Membership:

• 250- 300 paid members on average each year; reaching out to over 5,000 South Asian professionals in the Greater Boston area
• NetSAP members include recent graduates, young professionals, new residents, and families with and without children
• All major industries/sectors: Banking, Consulting, Government, Healthcare, Legal, Non-profit, Technology
• Member represent various South Asian countries including India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Maldives

Communication:

• Free weekly e-newsletter distributed to over 5,000 young professionals in the Boston and greater Boston area
