South Asian Women Leaders in New England
Fireside Chat with Indira Patel and Shelley Chhabra

NetSAP Boston and TIE-WIN present a Fireside Chat with South Asian Women Leaders

We invite you to join us for a fascinating discussion with Indira Patel, CEO of New England Office Supply, Inc., and Shelley Chhabra, entrepreneur and owner of Shelley Chhabra Indian Bridal.

Ms. Patel will share with us her migration to the US, her plunge into business ownership, and subsequent efforts at company growth. She will give you insights into what it takes to run a successful business.

Ms. Chhabra will talk about leveraging your talents into entrepreneurial ventures. She will also talk about the challenges of succeeding in a highly competitive environment and the importance of product differentiation.

Ms. Patel and Ms. Chhabra will also talk about generational differences as young Indian professionals establish their careers. Ms. Patel will highlight the professional opportunities available to Indians who immigrated to the United States in the 1960s and 1970s and discuss how the obstacles and challenges faced by the children of that generation are different today.

Ms. Patel and Ms. Chhabra will conclude with the special challenges of being a woman-entrepreneur; particularly one of south asian descent and the issues around work-life balance, access to resources/capital, career paths and best practices.
